At Mosaic we've started talking about an event that we're coordinating for this fall.  Our idea is to put together an art benefit type of event that will benefit the Women's Center of Tarrant County.  We'll be inviting local artists to participate in this event, but we'll also be supplying some "local" art from the Mosaic community.  We've gathered on occassions in the past for these art nights and some facinating works have been produced because of them.  There will be opportunities for people at different skill and experience levels, and there will be people who can help facilitate and teach various skills.  Here are a few of the things that will be available or that we've done in the past:

Glass Mosaics

Painting

Drawing

Sculpture

Photography

Somewhere (maybe on our old website) we have some pictures of several of the items that have been created.  We'll try to get those located and posted here.  This item was created by a team of kids (with some adult help) a couple of years ago:

Women at the Cross

You might not think that you have anything to offer to this process, and I can completely relate to that.  I have discovered through pushing myself at an event similar to this one, though, that even I have a creative side that needs a place to be released.  Please consider participating on Sunday, April 6th at 6:00 pm.  We'll be meeing on the 3rd floor of the Mosaic space on Camp Bowie.
